Darren Moore - The Devil's Tattoo
The Darren Moore Quintet - Isolation has it's Advantages

Isolation has its Advantages is the debut album from the Darren Moore Quintet. The compositions were written over summer in 2008 and reflect a broad range of influences from modern jazz, free improv, Indian karnatic music, free jazz, drum'n'bass and fusion.

The quintet features Singapore's most creative and unique jazz musicians featuring Tim O'Dwyer (saxophone), Greg Lyons (saxophone), Andrew Lim (guitar) and Tony Makarome (bass).  The performance of the quintet on the album is balanced between fiery and energetic modes with more subtle group interplay.   The album represents one of the most cutting edge jazz releases in Singapore to date.

The Devil’s Tattoo is the first solo percussion release from Darren Moore. Incorporating influences from free jazz, contemporary classical, free improv, experimental music and jazz, Moore aims to expand the boundaries of drum set and percussion playing by incorporating extended techniques and the use of found objects with conventional playing styles.
